Members: watch your mailbox for election materials in June
Midland Power Cooperative’s annual director and nominating committee election will take place in June. Ballots will be mailed to members on June 1, 2026. Completed ballots can be returned via mail using the enclosed postage-paid envelope, dropped off at any of Midland’s three office locations, or cast at Midland’s annual meeting. All ballots must be received at the Midland Power Boone administrative office by 9 a.m. on June 25. The winning candidates will be announced that evening at the cooperative’s annual meeting in Jefferson.
One current incumbent director is running unopposed in this year’s election: District 1 Director Paul Heineman.
In District 2, incumbent Director Doug Robey is being challenged by Jeremy Davis; in District 3, incumbent Director Michael Coleman is being challenged by Jeremy Ricklefs; and in District 4, incumbent Director Paul Skartvedt is being challenged by Michael Thomas.

Midland Power Cooperative is governed by 12 member-elected directors, with three directors representing each of the co-op’s four districts. Directors are elected to serve three-year terms.
Nominating committee candidates
In addition to board directors, members also elect three fellow members from each of the co-op’s four districts to serve on a nominating committee. The committee is responsible for identifying and recruiting eligible candidates to run for the Midland Power board of directors. This year’s candidates for the 2027 nominating committee are:
