Powerful Partnerships
Midland Power Cooperative strives to be a partner in economic development, responding not only to electrical needs but to all aspects of business growth. Ideally located in the heart of the state, our service territory provides a wealth of potential development sites in both rural and suburban areas.
The Cooperative Difference
As a member of Midland Power, you are both a member and an owner in contrast to the investor-owned utilities. Our number one priority is to provide you with safe, reliable, and affordable electricity.
USDA Loan and Grant Programs
Since its inception in 1997, Midland Power’s revolving loan fund has successfully made more than 60 loans to attract new businesses to the area and help existing businesses expand and thrive. Initially funded by a series of USDA grants, the revolving loan fund provides low-interest loans to businesses who may otherwise struggle to secure traditional funding.
In addition, we have also facilitated 12 pass-through loans through the USDA Rural Economic Development Grants and Loans (REG & REDL) programs. In total, these programs have allowed more than $15 million to be loaned to businesses and organizations throughout our community.
