7:20 a.m.
Crews continue their work this morning to restore service to the more than 1,000 members still without power, primarily in Boone, Greene, Webster, and Polk counties. The Boone and Jefferson crews will be joined in the field today by the Humboldt and Iowa Falls crews, as well as several mutual aid crews from other Iowa electric cooperatives less impacted by the storm. These additional linemen, along with the much-improved weather conditions, will help speed restoration efforts.
March 5, 2025
6:30 p.m.
Crews will continue working into the night as they attempt to restore service to as many members as possible. However, restoration efforts are frustratingly slow. Linemen are battling the elements, drifting snow (which has made some gravel roads impassable), and widespread wind damage to poles, cross arms, and insulators.
We advise members currently without power to make contingency plans for the night. Given the scope of the damage, we're unable to provide accurate estimates on when individual services will be restored.

1:15 p.m.
Crews continue working to restore outages across the service area. Currently, more than 1,500 service points are without power. While high winds and difficult working conditions are slowing their progress, our linemen are working as quickly as they safely can to restore service.
While we hope to have the majority of members back in power by this evening, members should be prepared for extended outage times, with the possibility of being without power overnight. This is especially true in Boone, Greene, Hamilton, Webster, and Story counties.
6:25 a.m.
We currently have more than 1,300 services without power, primarily in Story, Boone, and Greene counties. Crews will be back in the field this morning to begin the process of assessing the damage and restoring service. Given the challenging weather conditions, extended outage times are expected. We appreciate our members' patience as our linemen work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
If you are without power, please report your outage by calling us at (800) 833-8876 or through the SmartHub app.
March 4, 2025
11:30 p.m.
We are currently experiencing more than 400 outages, primarily in Greene, Boone, Webster, and Humboldt counties. Due to the hazardous whiteout driving conditions, crews have been recalled from the field to ensure their safety. Crews will begin storm repair efforts at daybreak.

12: 30 p.m.
⚠️ With tonight's strong storm system anticipated to bring whiteout conditions across much of the area, members should be prepared for extended outage times.
Our crews are on standby and will respond to outages overnight as long as road conditions allow. If conditions prevent county and state snowplows from safely operating, we will pull our crews from the field until daylight or such time as conditions improve.
If you experience an outage overnight, please report it by calling 800-833-8876. Our phones are answered 24/7. You can also report an outage using the SmartHub app.
