Today's storm is expected to bring high winds and snowfall across much of central Iowa. Our linemen will be on standby and ready to respond to any outages that occur; however, low visibility, drifting snow, and slick roads may result in longer-than-usual restoration times.
If you come across a downed line, remember to always keep your distance and alert anyone nearby to do the same. Assume every line is energized and call 911 and the co-op immediately. Never attempt to move or “reset” any co-op equipment—it’s extremely dangerous and can put both you and our crews at risk.
Members are also encouraged to take a few simple steps now, to ensure they remain safe in an extended outage.
Charge your phones and devices.
Have flashlights and extra batteries ready.
Make sure you have a safe place to shelter if needed.
Keep emergency supplies like water, non-perishable food, and medications on hand.
