Watch History Come Alive

More than 1,500 students from all across America take part in the Youth Tour experience each year, and so can you!

Every June, high school students from across the country spend a week in Washington D.C. as part of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Youth Tour to learn about America and the role electric cooperatives play in developing strong rural communities.

Participants get to visit with representatives and senators from Iowa and explore many sights around the nation's capital. Participating in the Youth Tour is an awesome way to make new friends, develop leadership skills, and learn about this great nation.

Midland Power selects and sponsors a student, in either their sophomore or junior year, from our service territory to represent the co-op at this great event. This year's trip will be June 15-21, 2024. Applicants will go through a short evaluation process to be selected. All completed applications are due no later than March 17, 2024.
